Stormcloud's daughter by Sh Ch Ferndel Stroller, Northey Sweet Charity, was a puppy definitely not picked for her beauty. Indeed, she was the runt of the litter; only five ounces when born and with an odd habit of circling all the time from the time she was on her feet. At first, I thought she was brain damaged, but she circled both ways and the Veterinarian ruled out any problem. However, I still didn't feel I could sell her and I was lucky a friend of mine agreed to take her on funny habits and all in case she turned out OK, but accepting my worry that something was not quite 'normal'. I had promised the pick bitch to Pat Dean, so from that litter Pat had Northey Showboat and Jane Carter and I kept Sweet Charity in partnership. Showboat gained her championship including the working qualifier, and Sweet Charity won a handful of Reserve Challenge Certificates. She still circled all the time, though, until her death at twelve years of age! She is pictured at six weeks, four months, fourteen months, and two years.
