Ch Northey Woodpecker 'Woody'
was always totally dependable. He never missed a bird in the shooting field,
and was a great showman in the ring, winning 5CCs and the Gundog Group at
Richmond in 1982. He attained his 'Show Gundog Working Certificate' and was
the WSSC Dual Purpose Dog of the Year 1980 (a record 119 points) 1981 and
1982. |

Ch Northey Stormcloud JW
'Storm' was
a frustration. She was the most beautiful bitch but would fight against
being shown, despite that she won 17 CCs, 10 with BOB and the Gundog Group
under Jimmy Cudworth at Birmingham 1986. Working with her was also a
challenge. Sometimes she would just not perform, and no amount of persuasion
could get her to. But she was my soul mate and I loved her to pieces.
I have traced
her pedigree through 21 generations to Corrin, the tap-root of the breed, as
follows – Ch Northey Stormcloud born 1983, N. Winston, N. Stonechat, Sh Ch
Dalati Braint, Ch D. Del, D. Sidan, Freesia of Hearts, Sherry of T., Ch
Stateman of Tregwillym, Sh Ch Token of T., Sh Ch Taliesin yr Ail. Sh Ch
Dewi Sant (the first post war breed title holder) Dere Di, Dere Mhlaen, Ch
Marksman O’ Matherne, Goitre Lass, Rose (unreg), Llanharon Don, Roger of
Nant, Rock, Corrin. |
