Ch Bitcon Gold Coast at Northey JW

‘Coast’ - Ch Bitcon Gold Coast at Northey JW - has a fantastic dual purpose record, winning in the show ring from a puppy, becoming a champion at 2 years of age, and by the time he was 3, he had won 4 Challenge Certificates, 3 Best of Breeds, 11 reserve Challenge Certificates and his Junior Warrant. We then decided to semi-retire him from shows to concentrate on his working career.

Coast’s first season was in 2008/9 when he was awarded a Certificate of Merit, a 2nd prize and near the end of the season, a 1st, which qualified him for entry to Open stakes. During the 2009/2010 season, he won a further 6 awards.

Coast is the only Vizsla Show Champion who has won an Open qualifying Field Trial towards the title of Field Trial Champion. He did this at The Kennel Club Open stake in December 2009. He now has nine Field Trial awards plus his Show Gundog Working Certificate. He is also worked regularly on the local shoot picking-up.

Coast has a wonderful temperament, biddable in every way, and a great personality.

Health wise, under the British Veterinary Association/Kennel Club schemes, he has a hip score of 7-5 (equal to the breed average) and his elbow score is 0-0.

His principle certificates for show and field trial awards can be seen on this website, along with copies of health certificates.

Coast is an experienced stud dog.

May 2008 Coast becomes a full Champion!!
He won his 3rd CC at SKC under Julia Iles Hebbert, his second at NGA in 2007 under Donna Holman,
and his first from breed specialist Sheila Gray at Windsor 2007, beating his illustrious sire 'Yogi!
He also has 11 RCCs.

Jan 2008 Coast gains his Show Gundog Working Certificate (SGWC), together with 'best performance of the day.
Judges on that occasion were Geoff Hargreaves (A panel) and Suzi Burton.

The judges reported: "Although there was no winner as such, mention must be made of the dog, which ran number two – a Hungarian Vizsla named Bitcon Gold Coast at Northey JW, handled by Andrew McDonald.  This dog covered his ground efficiently, at the optimum pace, found and pointed two woodcock staunchly, remained steady to shot and fall and retrieved tenderly to hand in copybook style."

During the 2007/2008 shooting season he was a regular member of the picking-up team at our local Crouch Valley shoot, where he retrieved Pheasant, Partridge and Ducks.
